Admitted, a good swim or a morning run along the coastline is great exercise. However, if you are looking for more advanced challenges, here are some suggestions:
- Hiking and climbing: Drive an hour and a half to the northeast, and you will reach the spectacular Paklenica National Park, a paradise for both: http://www.np-paklenica.hr/en/
- Diving: From Krapanj, the island just opposite our house, you can go on diving tours. Contact http://www.spongiola.com/en/diving, the small hotel on Krapanj, if you are interested.
- River rafting: If you are keen on river rafting, drive approx. one hour to the south, past Split to Omis and then turn left into the mountains and the river Certina: http://www.dalmatiarafting.com/en/index.aspx. Remember to book ahead.
- Local walk: You can go on your own along the Sct. Anthony channel leading to Sibenik. It is a newly made and beautiful path of 4,4 km and you end up at an old fortress, guarding the entrance to the channel. See more here: http://www.inyourpocket.com/sibenik/Saint-Anthonys-Channel-Promenade_128393v
